Han Solo’s blaster

Modeling right now the Han Solo blaster (Blastech DL-44). This is the one used in The Empire Strikes Back. Its design is based on a Mauser C96, a weapon first introduced at the end of the XIX century. The references I’ve found from this model all have different variations in some parts and pieces, so the result is kind of a mix of parts from different references.
This model is being done to use specifically inside Unreal as a usable weapon. I’m using floating geometry to get some of the details done in a quicker way, and that works well to generate the normal maps. Modeled in Maya.

Star Wars based environment, inspired by Tatooine

This is an idea for a little environment based on Tatooine. The idea is to make it more grungy, older and dirty. The main element is the tent. The shack is hold by an antenna as its center pivot, and a ruined wall from a Tatooine building. The images below show the progress…
